The Representation carries out charitable activities. For example, in May 2014, a charity event was held on the island of Samui, “Let`s help the children of Samui” at the school Baan Haad Ngam in the region of Chaweng, with the support of the local community of the Ascension Church, and the representatives of the Russian business community. Stationery, accessories for creativity, library books from the series of the world classical literature in English, and Thai languages, and sports equipment were transferred to the school.
There was also provided financial help to pay for meals for all students and the best students received cash awards. Teachers were presented with “The Law of God” edited by the Dean Seraphim Slobodskoy, and the History of the Christian Church, the new issue of the newspaper “Orthodox Thailand”, in which there is an informational application for Thais translated by the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church (the Moscow Patriarchate) in Thai.
The charity event was timed to the anniversary of the 700-year anniversary since the birth of the reverend Sergiy Radonejskiy6. Charity of the Representation is a response to the troubles of Thailand.
