The Church property in Thailand is protected by chanotamis (testimonies for the property with the highest degree of reliability). The Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand is studying the possibility to enter changes in the statutory documents of the fund, fixing property and administrative rights of the Moscow Patriarchate.3 The Representation interacts with the Thai police; the cooperation of the Director and the Confessor of the Representation with the International Police Association and the member of it – the Russian police Association – aids to it. It was shot from a grenade launcher on a police cordon in the city of Bangkok during the police crackdown on antigovernment protests of the part of the citizens of Thailand in opposition.

As a result of it about ten police officers were wounded, and forty-five year-old Sergeant of police Pienchai Paravat of Rayong province died from wounds to the chest. In addition, three civilians were killed innocently and 64 people were injured. In connection with this sad event the Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin) organized the collection of donations for the families of the deceased and wounded police officers. The first who responded to this appeal, were Russian citizens living in the cities of Hong Kong and Pattaya. We transferred to the chief of police of the province of Chonburi the General Catch Tartcart the collected donations for the victims in the amount of 50 thousand bahts.4

When the Vice-President of the IPA Alexander Sheludko made a friendly visit to the Chonburi province’s most famous city Pattaya, he met with the Director and the Confessor of the Representation. It should be noted that the Representation holds a great religious, public and social work with compatriots living in Thailand. Accordingly, the Archimandrite Oleg was awarded by the Mayor’s office of Pattaya and by the administration of the Police of the Kingdom of Thailand for participating in the project “Pattaya community safety”. Only in the last year and a half the Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepenin) helped more than one hundred citizens of Russia who were in difficult situations.
The Representation organized and held a range of events dedicated to the history, culture, and art of Russia. So, on the eve of Victory Day in Russia was organized concerts of masters of Opera`s singing from the Bolshoi theatre, and a photo show in the monastery in Pattaya.5
