§ 2. The interaction of the Representation with the state and the society of Thailand
Freedom and religious rights have always been among the rights and freedoms of the people of Thailand, as determined in the Constitution. Here you can quote the article 25 of the Constitution of the Kingdom Thailand (1978):
"Everyone has complete freedom to profess any religion, any religious denomination or religious principle and to worship in accordance with his religious beliefs, provided that it is not contrary to his civic duties, public order or public morality".
"By the realization of the freedoms listed in the first paragraph each person should be protected from any action by the state, which limits his rights and harm his interests on the basis of what that the religion, the religious denomination or the religious principle he professed, or worship in accordance with his faith, different from others".
In addition, the criminal code of Thailand includes three sections in order to prevent any action that may offend the sacred religious object, place, or create disturbances at any religious meeting, or illegal use of symbolism, simulating a monk or a priest:
"The article 206. A person who has committed any action on the object or place of religious worship of any community so that probably offends religion, regardless of the means used, shall be punished by imprisonment for the term from one year up to seven years or with a fin from two thousand to fourteen thousand baht or with both”.
“The article 207. A person who caused the mess to a lawful Assembly, performing religious rites or ceremonies, shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or by a fine in the amount of two thousand baht or both”.
